Ragnarok Port Malaya - The Monsters (Mob) of the Philippine Map

Ragnarok Port Malaya is coming and know the localized monsters (mobs) here. But first, I believe that Port Malaya is one of the best country themed map for Ragnarok not just because I work for Level Up! (Playweb Games) but because the local Ragnarok team and Gravity worked together to make sure that the Philippine Map is localized beautifully. Notice the monster names, jeepney, landmarks, etc...?

Gravity even came here to our country (The Philippines) to check out the Rizal Monument and other locations such as Intramuros in person. I still wish though that they put a Manny Pacquiao NPC and hopefully one day they will. In any case, here are the mobs (monsters) of Port Malaya.

Monsters of Ragnarok Port Malaya

Jejeling - It's a Poring with a Jejecap! (not a part of Philippine mythology)

Tikbalang - A humanoid with a head of horse. (popular PH myth)

Tiyanak - A vampiric  creature that takes the form of a child.

Manananggal - A mythical creature of the night that separates from its legs and return to it before dawn.

These are some of the new mobs coming with the patch Port Malaya. Wondering what the new MVP will look like? Here it is... the Bakonawa.

Bakunawa (bakonawa) - A giant serpent believe to be the cause of eclipses.

Adventure comes home! Ragnarok has been like a childhood friend to a lot of Filipino online gamers. After all, it's the very first locally published MMORPG in our country. Probably also one of the best free-to-play mmorpg in the Philippines. With the latest episode to the game featuring local areas, Ragnarok is now also more fun in the Philippines!

If you're asking what's the meaning of Malaya, it means "free" in Filipino.

What is Magic World Online 2?

Magic World Online 2 is one of the biggest MMORPGs in China developed by Shanda Games through Goldcool Studios.

Why is it HUGE in China?

Well for one, most MMORPG that became successful or that has amassed millions of players in the country have relatively low PC requirements but still can definitely look good as well when you have a beautiful rig or the "recommended specs".

Here's the requirements for Magic World Online 2 (from chinese website):

Basic configuration: 

• CPU Intel Pentium 4 2.6Hz and above 
• Graphics card nVidia GeForce 7300GT graphics card, or other types of the same class 
• Sound Card DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card 
• Memory 1G

Another reason is the fact that Shanda Interactive Entertainment (NASDAQ: SNDA) is one of the biggest online game company in China. The company claimed to have 460 million registered accounts back in 2005 (source). Just imagine how big is it today. This game also got an 8.9 score on mmosite.

Eligium Philippines

Eligium - The Chosen One is coming to the Philippines! During Domination 6 (April 21, 2012), the mmorpg from Shanda Games (the same guys who brought you Dragon Nest), has been revealed.

Level Up! by Playweb Games together with Shanda Games and Goldcool Games will bring the massive PVP fantasy game locally. Like what I've said before, one of the greatest features of this game is its unique pet & mount system wherein players will have to take care of their pet eggs in order to have a good mount (ala tamagotchi). Another feature that everyone should look out is its guild vs guild and faction vs faction where 200 players can wage war (rumored).
